Chemo Comfort kits help to make the treatment experience easier by giving patients the tools to cope with day-to-day needs from the beginning. A patient can start out with the right toothpaste and a comfy sleep cap and not spend time and effort investigating what is needed. Kits provide cancer patients with products that help manage nausea, mouth sores and hair loss, among other things.
Chemo Comfort has a three-tiered program to distribute
kits to cancer patients. Kits are donated through partnering cancer
organizations; subsidized kits are available to cancer patients
nationwide for a minimal donation; and there is a gift kit program,
enabling you to help someone you know going through treatment. Over 70%
of last year’s kits were donated.
Chemo Comfort works with
cancer organizations that assist those who are economically
disadvantaged to distribute our donated kits. We are proud to be
partnering with CancerCare, Cancer Support Team, Charles B Wang
Community Health Center, Staten Island University Hospital,
Women-at-Risk at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia Medical Center
and the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative at the Actors' Fund.
All information and advice are anecdotal. We are not medical professionals and do not dispense medical advice. Chemo Comfort comes from the founder's desire to share what she learned during her cancer experiences.
